Broughton Parish Council lease the Welfare Field from Cumberland Council (formally Allerdale).
Recent works to the Playarea part of Welfare field include:
-Installation of Stop the Ball Netting to protect the users of the play area from stray balls from the Football pitch. Funding was received toward this project from the Allerdale GDF Partnership.
-Installation of a number of pieces of new equipment for Key Stage 3 children (and older). Funding for these works was received from Allerdale GDF Partnership and from Allerdale Borough Council (as was).
The Parish Council is also continuing to work on plans and funding applications for a refurbishment/upgrade to the existing Childrens Playarea.
